Urbania (Province of Pesaro and Urbino, the Marches region) is a typical and attractive township, at 16 km. from Urbino, situated between the Adriatic sea and Tuscany. The town, known during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance as Casteldurante, was a splendid centre of art and culture. Donato Bramante and other important artists were born there, among whom the illustrious masters of the XVI and XVII century ceramics.
The Institute: The Centro Studi Italiani - the first center of Italian language and Culture in the Marches and on the Adriatic coast- started its first courses in 1986, with its own original framework and remains unique in its kind. From the very beginning we have been an authorised educationall center both for international students as well as for Italian citizens. Students from over 90 different countries throughout the world have attended our courses. 70% of our students come because the school has been recommended to them by ex-course members. They appreciate not only the professionalism of the Centro Studi Italiani but also our flexibility. Students learn quickly and well, thanks to the friendly atmosphere.
Our methodological criteria The methodological criteria which has always guided us is that of putting the student - every single student, with his or her personality and full potential - at the centre of our attentions. In this we feel to be heirs of the great Italian humanistic tradition, but at the same time we are open to the technological innovations of our time. Our method is therefore experimental, flexible, adaptable; in a word it is "creative", and consequently inimitable. We have elaborated our own specific educational strategy. The study programmes of the language are divided up in 8 different levels (Beginners 1st and 2nd, Pre-intermediate 1st and 2nd, Intermediate 1st and 2nd, Advanced 1st and 2nd), plus the Superior course for Italian teachers abroad.
Our Certificates All those who have regularly attended the courses are presented with the attendance certificate. The Centre of Italian Studies is a member of the Italian Academy of Languages (AIL) and examination centre for sitting the "Florence" diplomas and those of the Dante Alighieri Institute (ECI). Our courses prepare students for the exams for sitting the University for Foreigners of Siena certificates (CILS) and for the Dante Alighieri Italian Language Project (PLIDA).
The Programmes The class groups are formed based upon the results of the entrance test and upon the total number of students. In all the courses - taking into consideration the characteristics of each level - we aim for the same objective: to make the student capable of understanding, speaking, reading and writing the living language fluently; we obtain really special results also with the beginners.

COURSE PRICES
The standard course duration is 4 weeks. A student may also enrol in courses of 2 o 3 weeks, or in courses of 8, 12, etc., according to his or her needs. 4-weeks: Euro 699; 2-weeks: Euro 449; 3-weeks: Euro 589; 8-weeks: Euro 1,299; 12-weeks: Euro 1,889; 16-weeks: Euro 2,469; etc..
Optional courses in arts 6 hours weekly, 2 afternoons of 3 hours each. Attendance for one of these courses costs monthly a supplement of Euro 130: Drawing and Painting; Pottery; Traditional Italian cookery.
Accommodation The school takes care of finding accommodation for students and assists them during their stay.
