ALS in Ortona (CH) - Italy opened it’s doors on the 10^th February 2003. It is situated at 28, Via Giudea, parallel with the CORSO, the main meeting and shopping place in Ortona.

 All the teachers working with ALS are highly qualified with TEFL and TESOL certificates.

 Languages currently taught are English, French, and Spanish.

 Courses being held are many and varied. For example, we do Conversation, Business English, Financial English, General English, preparation courses for Cambridge, specialised courses for School Children. In summer we will also be having special crash courses for students who wish to recuperate on their studies. There is also going to be a special course called “L’Estate con ALS – Kid’s English Playtime” aimed at children from 4 years upwards.

 Summer courses for foreigners who wish to study English while having a holiday in Italy are also available.

 Excursions to the North of Italy can also be arranged. There we will have crash courses in the mornings and sight seeing tours for the rest  of the day

 Ortona, on the Adriatic side of the Abruzzo, is the main port in the region. In fact, due to it’s historical importance it is also known as the”port and arsenal of the Frantani”. It is also a lovely seaside resort with beaches having such exotic names as Lido dei Saraceni, Ripari di Giobbe, and the Lido Riccio.

 Some of the places of interest which should not be missed are the Aragonese Castle built by Alphonse of Aragon in 1452, the imposing Palazzo Farnese and Palazzo de Sanctis, plus the Museo Musicale D’Abruzzo. The Basilica of San Tommaso Appostolo where the remains of St. Thomas the Apostle are resting is also worth visiting. And for those who wish to do some shopping you can also visit the Corso where you will find all you could wish for.
