The Institute, The Programmes, Prices (), Accommodation
MoscowThe Institute, accredited by Moscow's Department of Education, offers high quality Russian language and intercultural study abroad programmes with special programmes in the summer months, at Easter and at Christmas. It is situated on a 120-acre on-campus site with Olympic size heated swimming pool cafeterias and all facilities. Accommodation is with a local host family (home stay) or in a student hostel in the grounds of the Institute. The main programmes are: 2 weeks, 4 weeks, Summer School - 8 weeks, Semester 15 weeks and 1 year (2 semesters). All levels, no prior Russian language knowledge required.

The intensive Russian programme is offered at five levels: Beginner's, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate and Upper-Intermediate – 15 hours per week. Russian Courses take place Monday to Friday with a minimum of three 50-minute periods per day starting at 09h30. A student's Russian language level is determined by means of a Placement Test consisting of a writing sample and oral interview. Class sizes: for Russian Speaking Practice and Conversation, requiring intensive interaction between the Russian tutor and the student, groups are limited to a maximum of five students. For Reading, Writing and some Cultural Studies there is a maximum of ten students per class.

Choose 10, 15 or 20 hours per week of individual tuition over a period of 1 to 4 weeks. Longer periods are possible and are usually split between two or more different locations.

Situated on the delta of the River Neva as it flows into the Gulf of Finland an arm of the Baltic Sea, St Petersburg is on of the most magnificent cities in the world. Founded in 1703, the city later became the capital until this status was transferred to Moscow in 1918. St Petersburg reflects the last 300 years of Russian life, history and culture, having close associations with Pushkin, Dostoyevsky and Merezhkovsk. It is home to the Russian ballet and has some hundred museums and permanent exhibitions, including the Hermitage and the Russian Museum. World-famous sights include the cathedral, where Peter the Great is buried, the Winter Palace, the Mikhailovsky Palace, the Summer Garden, the Smolny Cathedral and the Admiralty.
Today, St Petersburg is a friendly, open-hearted city with many international links. It is, for example, 'twinned' with Manchester, Edinburgh and Gdansk.

We provide courses at all levels. We have group courses with a maximum of 8 students per class and individual or two-to-one lessons. Our school is quite flexible in its programs and coursework, and we are always ready to work out courses specially tailored to suit your particular needs and interests. Whether it is business, history, politics, culture, mass media or whatever, we either already have or can design a course for you. We are an experienced team and have tested accredited programs for all levels with an excellent system of diagnostics and evaluation to accurately place students at a level consistent with their prior studies.
All prices include: tuition, accommodation in a host-family (half board during the week, full board on weekends, single room), teaching material, transfer in and out, welcome package, visa support, one guided city tour. Minimum group
course - two weeks.
Classes start at
10 o'clock with a break every 45 minutes. Coffee and snacks are available. Lunch
